The Kiowa County Road and Bridge department maintains the asphalt, sand, and gravel roads of rural Kiowa County. These roads are vital to the county’s economy and are depended upon by many of the county’s largest industries. From traditional industries such as agriculture and oil and gas to newer ventures such as wind farms that harvest clean energy from our natural resources, many employers use these roads to conduct their daily business. In addition to the roadways themselves, the department also looks after their associated bridges and ditches.
