The Kiowa County Sheriff Office is interested in professional, highly motivated, problem solving oriented individuals for full-time Deputy Sheriff positions. We are looking for individuals that are community oriented and have good interpersonal skills to meet the unique needs of the communities we serve. The Sheriff Office has an excellent benefit package.
Duties and responsibilities include enforcing all federal, state and local laws, taking calls for service; patrolling business districts and residential neighborhood to deter and detect crime, investigate complaints; citing and/or arresting law violators; following up on pending reports and cases; serving civil process; protecting person and/or property.
Job requirements
- Age at least 21 years of age
- Education High School/GED
- Experience Law Enforcement certification preferred but not required
Additional Requirements:
Employee must be a U.S. Citizen and reside in Kiowa County at the time of appointment. Must have, or able to obtain, a valid Kansas drivers license, and be able to be insured on the County’s insurance. No felony or domestic related convictions (misdemeanor convictions will be considered on a case by case basis). Candiates must be able to successfully pass a full background investigation.

Paid sick time, vacation, paid holidays, KPERS, competitive wages per experience and reasonable Health insurance premiums which include health, vision and dental. Entry level salary will be $14.00 hourly.
