NOTICE OF BALLOT AUDIT FOR PRIMARY ELECTION
As required by K.S.A. 25-3009, a post-election audit of ballots cast in 1% of precincts in Kiowa County will begin at 10:00am on August 8, 2024, in the Commissioner Meeting room at the Kiowa County Courthouse. The selection of races and precincts for the audit will be held at the beginning of the audit.
We will audit no less than one federal race, one state race, one state legislative race, and one county race for this primary election. The precincts and races to be audited will be selected in a random drawing.
When the audit has been completed, the audit results are used by the county board of canvassers when certifying the official election results at the County Canvass that will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 9:00am.

In compliance with the provisions of K.S.A. 25-2311notice is hereby given that the books for registration of voters of Kiowa County, Kansas will open at 8:00 a.m. and remain open during regular office hours at the following locations:
Kiowa County Clerk’s Office, 211 E Florida Ave, Greensburg, KS, Kiowa County Courthouse
The registration books of Kiowa County residents will be closed beginning the 20th day of February 2024 and will remain closed until March 20, 2024.
A citizen of the United States, who has lived in the State and Precinct for 21 days prior to election and is eighteen (18) years of age at the next election, must register before he or she can vote. Registration closes twenty-one (21) days prior to every election. When a voter has been registered according to the law his or her registration shall continue to be valid until any of the following occurs:
Any person may apply in person or by mail to the County Election Office to be registered. Application forms shall be provided by the County Election Officer upon request in person or in writing by an individual applicant. Such application forms shall be signed by the applicant under penalty of perjury.

Due to the Kiowa County Hospital Board no longer having Primary elections pursuant to the Resolution 2015-8 notice that two positions that will appear on the November Election ballot was omitted from the Primary Election notice. The filing deadline for these positions is June 1st at noon. Anyone interested filing for these positions please contact our office at 620-723-3366.
As required by K.S.A. 25-3009, a post-election audit of ballots cast in 1% of precincts in Kiowa County will begin at 2:00pm on November 4, 2021 in the Commissioner Meeting room at the Kiowa County Courthouse. The selection of races and precincts for the audit will be held at the beginning of the audit.
We will audit no less than two precincts and two contested races for this general election. The precincts and races to be audited will be selected in a random drawing.
When the audit has been completed, the audit results are used by the county board of canvassers when certifying the official election results at the County Canvass that will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 10:00am.
