NOTICE
Due to the extreme winds, the landfill will be closed to normal business on Wednesday, 12/15/2021. The landfill will continue to accept commercial trash trucks on this date. The landfill will reopen for normal business and hours on Thursday, 12/16/2021.
Kiowa County maintains a sanitary landfill for residents to dispose of typical household waste. The landfill is located at 10263 31st Avenue, or about 3½ miles south of the end of Greensburg’s Olive Street on the west side of the road. The landfill accepts the following items:
- Household waste (bagged)
- Yard waste
- Tires (off rims)
- Metal goods, including white goods such as refrigerators and freezers
- Used batteries
- Used oil filters
- Burnt trash
- Carpet
- Paint (dried)
