The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program gives citizens a place to properly dispose of chemicals and other items that could pose a threat to humans and the environment. If you have any of the following items please call the Solid Waste department at 620-723-1034 to make an appointment to drop them off at the HHW facility.

- Aerosol Cans
- Latex Paint
- Oil or Solvent based Paints
- Furniture Stripper
- Stains, Varnishes, and other Wood Finishes
- Thinner and Turpentine
- Wood Preservatives
- Antifreeze
- Brake Fluids
- Cleaning and Polish Products
- Oils
- Transmission Fluid
- Household Cleaners
- Bleach
- Drain Cleaners
- Mothballs
- Pastes, Poisons, Polishes, and Caulk
- Photographic Chemicals
- Pool Chemicals
- Rug and Upholstery Cleaner
The following items will not be accepted as HHW:
- Asbestos
- Commercial Waste
- Compressed Gas Cylinders
- Explosives and Ammunition
- Medical Waste
- Radioactive Materials
HHW must be recorded when brought in, so please check make an appointment when dropping off all HHW. Employees may ask residents to take back any items that are unlabeled or unknown. Also keep in mind the program is for individual residents only. Any waste of a commercial nature cannot be accepted.
